Privacy Policy

What we collect
When you sign up and use IdleLens, we collect:
- Account information — your email address and name, managed by Clerk (our identity provider). IdleLens never stores your password.
- AWS account metadata — your AWS account ID, connected regions, and the IAM role ARN you provide. We do not store AWS credentials or session tokens.
- Scan results — resource IDs, tags, CloudWatch metric evidence, estimated costs, and finding status (open / snoozed / resolved) for each scan you run.
- Usage activity — actions you take in the product (scan runs, finding triage, settings changes) recorded in the audit log.
What we do not collect
- Application data, source code, or database contents in your AWS account
- S3 object contents or EBS volume data
- Secrets, API keys, or credentials of any kind
- Customer workload traffic or application-level logs
How we use it
Data is used solely to operate IdleLens — to run scans, display findings, and send invoices when the activation event fires. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described below.
Third-party services
- Clerk — handles authentication (sign-in, sign-up, session management). Subject to Clerk's privacy policy.
- Amazon Web Services — IdleLens is hosted on AWS (Fargate, RDS, ElastiCache). Data is stored in AWS data centers.
- Payments — during the pilot phase, invoices are issued manually. No payment card data is stored by IdleLens.
Analytics
IdleLens does not use third-party web analytics during the pilot phase. No advertising pixels, cross-site trackers, or behavioral profiling tools are deployed.
Data retention
Scan results and findings are retained for 90 days. Account and workspace data is retained while your account is active.
Deletion requests
To delete your workspace data or close your account, email support@idlelens.com. Requests are fulfilled within 30 days.
Policy updates
Material changes to this policy will be communicated by email before they take effect.
